Dessert. One little word that thrills so many, and unfortunately brings guilt to many more. Life is short. Occasionally, eat dessert first.
Hot Fudge Pie, or “Brownie Pie” in our house, is a wonderfully decadent but simple dessert. This is a crust-less pie, so no need to fret over making a pie crust.
Slice this dessert and eat it right out of the pan, no fork required. Or drizzle with chocolate syrup, or go a bit further and top it with whipped cream and fruit. My teens’ favorite way – warm pie from the oven topped with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce. Seriously, though, it’s perfect straight from the pan.
This recipe is so simple. It’s likely the ingredients are already in your pantry, and you mix it all in one bowl. Take this recipe and commit it to memory; your family will love you and think you are a rock star!
Hot Fudge Pie
- 1 stick of salted butter, melted
- 1 cup of sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon of cocoa
- ¼ cup of plain flour
- a pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Melt your butter in microwave safe bowl, a two quart bowl is perfect size, then add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well until smooth, you can use a hand mixer, but a whisk is fine, too. Pour into a 9 inch pie pan OR a 9 inch square pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray, and bake for 25 minutes. Enjoy – you will not be disappointed!
